Flow

Flow (AKA: Flow Energy) refers to the passive energy emanating all over the world of Caelum. It stems from the planet's core and civilizations have attuned themselves into using such energy for eons. A.G. 0 marked the beginning of its technological usage. From there, various inventions have been made, including the emergence of COMs.

Flow Aptitude and Affinity

Each individual Caelite has a certain affinity and aptitude with Flow, which are reflected through the color of their eyes:

Magic:
Magic is conjured by creating a "magic code" within one's mind and then "compiling" it. The result is the manifestation of the code in the physical world. This process is often compared to programming. Magic requires Flow Reserves, similar to RAM or hard drive space. The complexity of magic depends on the user's affinity with Flow Energy and their ability to memorize magic codes. Failed codes do not manifest but consume Flow energy.

Techniques:
Techniques do not require Flow Energy. They are acquired through physical training and mastery of fighting styles. While others can use techniques to amplify their offensive capabilities, they do not need to conjure codes.

Hexes:
Hexes are strange phenomena that can occur in two ways: through the forced corruption of a conjured code or by conjuring magic that is beyond comprehension. Hexes often create a dimensional anomaly, trapping individuals in an infinite matrix. Those unaware of the abnormality may struggle to escape unless they find the source code of the hex, usually an item placed in the area that wasn't there before.

Chi Energy:
Chi Energy is a unique form of energy developed by lifeforms who break their physical limits and become spiritually attuned to their life essence. Unlike Flow Energy, Chi Energy bypasses all limitations, including the requirement of being near Caelum's Core to harness its power. Due to its rarity, with only two recorded instances of Caelites achieving it (including Theia Laufel), much remains unknown about Chi Energy.

Special States

A certain person may undergo through these flow-based afflictions through various means:

State of Revelation: The State of Revelation is a phenomenon can happen to any lifeform in Caelum when they undergo a paradigm shift of cosmic proportions. The phenomenon will change their appearance, usually transforming their hair color into silver/white. Having a silver hair is a cultural norm, as they are usually associated with lifeforms who are extremely wise and knowledgeable. COMs are not affected by this phenomenon.

Librarian's Vision: Anyone who attains an extremely high amount of insight will then achieve this state. This type of state was coined "Librarian's Vision" due to its correlation with the Akashic Records. This state grants the person limitless intelligence quantities, as well as photographic memory. However, due to its high flow sensitivity, the person who takes on this state ceases to see everything in the physical realm and instead see everything through Energy and Waves. This vision is also usually associated with the Laufel Clan.

Heterochromia: A person who has Heterochromia is usually associated with failed genetics. These people can technically harness Flow Energy except their corrupted genes prevent them from doing so. Heterochromia is also usually associated with the Imiwaki Tribe.
