However, due to his lack of self-control, he decided to store all but one of them inside the mysterious Inverse Towers as an act of penance. The cores are, by design, sentient. They choose their owners, and should a character becomes worthy enough to obtain them, they will start calling out to them through telepathy. Noah's Core is a special Key Item that provides their corresponding characters their signature Units should the player chooses to trade them with Hitomi Imiwaki. They are scattered throughout Caelum, mostly stored in Inverse Towers as data chips. Later in the game, they can hand the data chips to Syou in order to convert them into cores. Each playable character (minus secret and GoGo Characters) has their own data chip:
