Secret Characters are playable characters that can be unlocked as a party member for non-story content. Unlike GoGo Characters, these characters have very specific unlock conditions that may require the player to think outside the box, rather than finishing missions or subplots. Secret characters also have a set level and will only increase in level if the player finishes an episode. They are stuck to only one style (with the exception of Syou) and cannot summon Hi-Frames. Otherwise, the player is free to customize their gear and item loadouts.
