Before Caelum became a planet, there existed a superweapon: PARADISE. This spherical ark was created by the Erruthians as last resort before their planet, Erruth was destroyed by an unknown cosmic entity. Noah Saith, along with a group of extremely knowledgeable engineers were the forerunners of this project. This spherical ark served as a space colony, and as countermeasure against the cosmic entity, they've also equipped the colony with a weapon capable of wiping out all sentient beings in the entire universe, dubbed "The Primal Core". Little did the engineers knew, that this same project would lead their downfall as species.

History

Due to the Erruthian's knowledge of the unknown cosmic entity, they concluded that the entity was attracted to large levels of energy. Therefore, in order to prevent it from consuming other galaxies, they had to keep it under surveillance. This was done by sending massive energy pulses every 5 years. After several decades of luring the entity, a fatal mistake was made. Nobody knew that when the entity comes in proximity of the ship, its ability to alter reality could bend even AI itself. Therefore, once the entity became close, the ship was immediately corrupted. The AI, trying to fight off the corruption, had no choice but to use subspace travel to jump several galaxies in order to escape the ordeal, resulting in its systems to shut down, and wiping a majority of the population due to the extreme levels of jump. There were only a few survivors left after the whole ordeal.

Becoming Caelum

Noah Saith fortunately was among the survivors. He reflected on the mistake that caused the calamity and decided that it would be too dangerous to return the ark into its former glory. However, he hoped that there will be someone in the future who can use it for good. So as fail-safe, he created two keys: "Project White" and "The Herald of Truth". These "keys" were stored inside the genes of those who inherit them. He started creating lifeforms for the duration of his life, hoping to atone for the sins he had committed. And due to the ark's unique placement in the solar system, it was able to terraform into a proper planet after several billion years had passed. The Primal Core then became a source of "Flow Energy", a resource Caelum and its inhabitants use for everything, including magic.
